Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters has made an early change to its squad, mutually agreeing to part ways with defender Oumar Bah just three matches into the new season. The club has moved quickly to fill the gap by signing Senegalese centre-back Fallou Ndiaye as his replacement.
Bah, a Guinean defender, had only recently joined the Blasters in January this year. Despite his short stint with the team, he featured in all three of the club’s matches so far this season. However, with Kerala Blasters struggling at the start of the campaign, both parties have decided to go their separate ways.
The team has endured a difficult opening to the league, failing to secure a single point from their first three matches. As a result, Kerala Blasters currently sit at the bottom of the Indian Super League table in 12th place. The change in the defensive lineup appears to be part of the club’s attempt to reset and improve performances after the disappointing start.
Before arriving in India, Bah spent several years playing in Spain, building experience across multiple clubs in the country’s lower divisions. During that period, he represented teams such as UE Sant Andreu, EC Granollers, CE L’Hospitalet, Fundació Esportiva Grama, and most recently UE Vilassar de Mar. His time in Spain gave him exposure to competitive football in Europe, but his stay with the Kerala-based club proved brief.
Stepping in to replace him is Senegalese defender Fallou Ndiaye, who arrives from Finnish top-division side SJK Seinäjoki. Ndiaye spent two seasons with the club, making 37 appearances during his time in Finland’s top league.
The centre-back also brings experience from other European clubs. Earlier in his career, he played for FC Haka in Finland and AC Arles in France. Ndiaye also spent time in the youth setup of Belgian club KAA Gent after leaving AS Douanes in Dakar, Senegal, where he began his football journey.
Kerala Blasters will hope that Ndiaye’s experience across multiple European leagues strengthens their defensive line and helps the team recover from its difficult start to the season. With the league campaign still in its early stages, the club will be aiming for a quick turnaround in results as they look to climb up from the bottom of the table.
