Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil was delighted after a 3-1 win against Mohammedan SC in the ongoing Indian Super League 2024-25 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on Monday. After a goalless first half, Mohammed Sanan K, Javier Savierio, and Stephen Eze scored for the Red Miners in the second half.
Mohammed Irshad scored in the 88th minute for the Kolkata-based club but it was not enough for any late drama.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Sanan K was awarded Player of the Match for his fine performance against Mohammedan SC. The home team had 43.7% possession but took nine shots on target.
“Everybody is working very hard. We must continue like this,” the Indian head coach said in the post-match press conference.
Meanwhile, the Men of Steel suffered a 5-1 loss against Chennaiyin FC in their previous match but made a solid comeback against Mohammedan SC.
“It’s like a comeback. We get confidence because the performances in the last three matches weren’t good,” Jamil commented.
“I saw Sanan’s goal. Javi (Siverio) and (Stephen) Eze scored also. We got the three points, and that’s most important,” he further said.
Jamil said the team came up with a collective effort as all the players worked hard on their game.
“Everybody worked very hard. The players deserve the victory.”
“All the players, Siverio, Javi (Hernandez), and Rei (Tachikawa), maintained good shape. Pratik (Chaudhari) and Albino (Gomes) also did well. Imran (Khan) and Sanan worked very hard. Sourav (Das), (Muhammad) Uvais, and Ashutosh (Mehta) did well. So it was a collective effort and it’s because of the players,” Jamil signed off.
Jamshedpur FC will next take on Punjab FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on 13th December.
