Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said the Reds are in crisis mode after four losses on the trot. Arne Slot’s team has managed a solitary win in the last six games and they are struggling at the moment.
Liverpool have suffered Premier League losses against Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Brentford. Furthermore, the Reds suffered a 1-0 loss against Galatasaray in the Champions League.
After winning the first five matches of the season, Liverpool have veered off the track in the last four games.
Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports, “To see the champions lose 4 games in a row in the Premier League with the expenditure in the summer, I think we’re in crisis time for Liverpool right now,” he said.
“Losing four games in a row for Brentford would be a disaster. For any promoted team … You can’t lose four on the bounce.
“There will be a lot of serious questions asked in the dressing room the manager and the coaching staff and also the people above the manager and the players.
“When they’ve looked at what they’ve spent, the players they’ve gone out and got they’ll be looking for a lot more.”
The former Liverpool defender said the team lacked physicality and height in their loss against Brentford.
“Liverpool have to look at the physicality and height within their team going forward because, right now, I don’t think they have enough of it,” he said.
Liverpool would look to bounce back stronger and deliver as a unit. The Reds will next take on Crystal Palace in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
