The Bundesliga giants reportedly offered £44 million—well below Liverpool’s minimum valuation of £68 million. From Liverpool’s perspective, a player of Diaz’s caliber, who still has two years remaining on his contract and has been a key figure in their attack, simply cannot leave for a cut-price deal.

Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022 and quickly became one of the team’s most dynamic forwards. Although Liverpool boasts an impressive array of attacking talent, Diaz has consistently shown his worth, especially during key moments of the season. His contributions last term, including 17 goals in all competitions, demonstrated why the club remains so protective of him.

For Bayern, their interest in Diaz comes after missing out on key targets elsewhere. Their failed pursuit of Florian Wirtz, who opted to join Liverpool instead, has pushed them to reassess their options in the market.
