Mumbai City FC has signed the services of young and talented midfielder Zothanpuia, the club announced on Monday. The youngster joins Islanders from Aizawl FC on a three-year contract that will keep him with the club till the end of 2027-28 season.
The 20-year-old made 20 appearances in the previous season and scored three goals and provided two assists. Zothanpuia is delighted to join hands with Mumbai City FC and said it is a dream-come-true moment for him.
Zothanpuia said, “I am thrilled to join Mumbai City. It is a club with a rich history and a record of winning trophies and titles. I am looking forward to contributing to that effort and hope to learn and grow with the experience in the squad. Playing in the ISL has been a dream of mine, and I am excited to live that dream with Mumbai City.”

His football attributes and ability to contribute across midfield will add depth to our squad. We are building a competitive and talented group for the new season and the future. On the other hand, NorthEast United midfielder Bekey Oram has signed a contract extension with the club. The new deal will keep Oram with the Highlanders till the end of the 2028 season.
“I’m delighted to extend my stay with the Highlanders. I’m grateful to the coaching staff and the management for the trust they’ve shown in me,” Bekey said.
“These past two years have been instrumental in shaping me both as a player and as a person. The Durand Cup victory and the Sikkim Governor’s Gold Cup win were special moments, and I look forward to continuing to grow and contribute to the club’s success,” he added.
“Bekey is a fantastic and intelligent young player who can comfortably play both in defence and midfield. He reads the game well and makes smart decisions on the pitch.
