Nigerian international defender Stephen Eze has joined Indian Super League side Jamshedpur FC, the club announced on Thursday.
The 26-year-old started out in the Nigerian Professional Football League with Lobi Stars of Markurdi, the Champions of the 2018 season of the league.
He also played for Nigeria Professional Football League side Sunshine Stars after leaving Lobi Stars.
The Super Eagles player also featured for Ifeanyi Ubah as well as Nigerian giants Kano Pillars, who have played in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League and won the Nigeria Professional Football League seven times.
His first sojourn to Europe was with Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv in 2018, turning out 57 times in three seasons, scoring 3 times.
He gained European experience with the team playing in the UEFA Europa League in the 2019-20 season, having finished 2nd in the Bulgarian league in the 2018/19 season.
Eze won the Bulgarian FA Cup in the 2018/19 season, and he has made 13 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, having made his debut for the Nigerian national team in 2016.
Jamshedpur FC have also signed Peter Hartley, a defender from Scotland, and India goalkeeper TP Rehenesh as Owen Coyle aims to lead the side to a decent finish in the India Super League.
The 2020-2021 India Super League season will be held behind closed doors in Goa with I-League champions Mohun Bagan set to play in the India Super League as ATK-Mohun Bagan.
Mohun Bagan rivals East Bengal are also set to play in the India Super League this season, becoming the 11th team if they succeed after getting their investors sorted with Shree Cement coming on board as the team’s new investors.
ATK won the last India Super League season after beating Chennaiyin FC in the playoffs final earlier in the year.
