NorthEast United FC striker Alaaeddine Ajaraie expressed his happiness after winning the Golden Boot as well as the Golden Ball after the conclusion of Indian Super League 2024-25. This was Moroccan’s first ISL season and he shined like a bright star in India. He became the third player to win both Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards in the same season.
In 25 matches of ISL 2024-25, Ajaraie scored 23 goals and provided seven assists, and played a key role in taking NorthEast United to the playoffs. Thus, the forward broke many records in his maiden stint with the Highlanders.
Ajaraie also became the fastest player to score 10 goals in the ISL history. He gave his gratitude to his teammates and coaching staff.
“This season for me, it’s an amazing season, I can’t believe it. I thank God and I want to thank my team, and all my staff. Without them, I couldn’t do this, and I can’t win. This day gives me more power to continue like this and also to help my team in the future. This is special for me and this is a big honour for me, my family, my friends and my team because without a team I can’t do anything,” Alaaeddine Ajaraie said in a video posted by NorthEast United FC.
The Moroccan player picked his goal against FC Goa as his favorite when he dribbled past two defenders and found the back of the net in a 3-3 draw.
“My favorite goal in the ISL was against FC Goa, I think it’s difficult for me because I tried a lot before, I was trying too much to do this. And when I did, I worked hard for it, to do my best.” He responded.
The striker picked the win against Chennaiyin FC as his most cherished moment of the season, which helped NorthEast United FC secure their playoff berth.
“My best moment with the team is against Chennaiyin FC when we win 3-0 and we know we qualify directly for the playoff,” he said as he concluded.
