Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola admitted his team can handle stress of the Premier League title race against Arsenal. The Cityzens climbed to the top of the Premier League standings after a 1-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday.
The Sky Blues won the crucial clash against Burnley after Erling Haaland scored an early fifth-minute goal for the visitors. Last weekend, Guardiola’s men had registered a huge win of 2-1 against the Gunners.
“I don’t have a machine or something like that. How was your pressure today? How do you feel? Were you nervous or not nervous?” said Guardiola.
“I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure that this, for the future, for all of them, for all of us, in this club will be good, as much you experience, as much as you’ve been there many times, you handle it better.
“But in general, in the way we play it was really, really, really good. So, the commitment, the way, how many plays arrive, and we just missed a little bit that moment.”
City had a chance to boost their goal difference after Haaland scored an early goal but the tourists could not grab their chances.
“I think we played really, really good,” said Guardiola. “I didn’t see all the images and the chances that we had, but I had a feeling that we had a lot.
“And just for many of these types of games, we score the second on the third, for the chances that we create, we deserve it.”
The Spanish coach said they need to win the remaining five games to win the Premier League title.
Guardiola said: “Now we have the FA Cup and after that we have five games. The only chance for the title is to win all the games.”
City will next take on Southampton in the FA Cup semifinals on Saturday.
