Punjab FC has strengthened its long-term plans by extending the contract of goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh for two more years, ensuring the experienced shot-stopper remains with the club until May 31, 2028.
The extension reflects the club’s confidence in the Mahilpur-born goalkeeper, who joined Punjab FC ahead of the 2025 season and has since become an important part of the squad. With years of experience across Indian football’s top competitions, Arshdeep has brought stability and leadership to the team’s goalkeeping unit.
A graduate of the AIFF Elite Academy, Arshdeep first rose to prominence with Minerva Punjab, playing a role in the club’s memorable I-League title-winning campaign during the 2017-18 season. His performances also earned him opportunities in AFC competitions, providing valuable international exposure early in his career.
Following his success with Minerva Punjab, Arshdeep continued his development in the Indian Super League, spending three seasons with Odisha FC before moving on to FC Goa and Hyderabad FC, now known as Sporting Club Delhi. His journey through multiple ISL clubs helped him establish a reputation as a dependable and experienced goalkeeper.
Since returning to Punjab and joining Punjab FC, Arshdeep has added depth and assurance to the club’s defensive structure. His contributions during the 2025-26 ISL season underlined his value to the side. The goalkeeper featured in 12 matches, playing a total of 1,440 minutes while recording four clean sheets and making 14 saves.
The contract extension is expected to provide continuity in Punjab FC’s squad-building efforts as the club looks to strengthen its position in Indian football. Retaining a player with local roots and significant top-flight experience is also seen as an important step in maintaining a strong connection with supporters in the region.
Speaking after signing the new deal, Arshdeep expressed his delight at continuing with the club.
“I am extremely happy to continue my journey with Punjab FC. Representing the club from my home state has been a special feeling, and I am grateful for the trust shown in me. I will continue to work hard and give my best for the club and the supporters,” he said.
With his future now secured for the next two seasons, Punjab FC will hope Arshdeep’s experience and consistency continue to play a key role as the club prepares for upcoming campaigns.
