Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has revealed that the club is giving him anxiety and nervousness despite registering his first win with the team. The Red Devils registered a 3-2 win against Bodo/Glimt at Old Trafford in the Europa League on Thursday.
Alejandro Garnacho scored in the opening minute to put the Red Devils in front whereas Hakon Evjen and Philip Zinckernagel scored for the Norwegian side to put them in front by 2-1 after 23 minutes.
However, Rasmus Højlund scored a brace for Manchester United to give his team all three points.
“I get anxious because I don’t know what will happen — you don’t control nothing at the moment — we are trying to see different things,” Amorim told TNT Sports.
“I don’t know the players and we have not worked a lot together. We go to the game excited, but at the same time you are nervous because you don’t know how the game will go.”
Amorim added Lisandro Martínez, Tyrell Malacia, Antony, Manuel Ugarte, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Højlund to the playing XI after the draw against Ipswich Town.
“I think we have improved from Ipswich and we improved in the quality with the ball,” he said.
“We will have to change players [against Everton]. We tried to press all the time and the last 10 minutes it was tough.
“I felt Rasmus Højlund was dead. I felt some players were tired.
“Antony came back from injury, he had to go out of the game and we did four substitutions because of the fitness of the players. We are in that moment and we need the squad together.”
Manchester United will next take on Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday.
