Manchester United’s manager Ruben Amorim has remained tight-lipped on forward Alejandro Garnacho’s future at the club. The Portuguese manager said that the Argentine is a crucial player for them and refused to talk about his exit from the club.
The youngster has reportedly received interest from Chelsea and Napoli. Meanwhile, the striker played a key role in Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Rangers in the Europa League at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Jack Butland scored an own goal in the 52nd minute to put the hosts in front. But, Cyriel Dyssers scored in the 88th minute to equalize for the visitors before United captain Bruno Fernandes scored in the stoppage time to help his team seal all three points.
“I’m focused on the games and he’s here,” said Amorim.
“He’s a player for Manchester United. He was really important for us today and let’s see in the next days.”
According to reports, United are not forcing Garnacho out of the club but their financial situation could force them to sell players if an offer presents itself.
Amorim said the Argentine is improving in every aspect of the game.
“I think he’s improving in every aspect of the game,” said Amorim.
“You can see it until 90 mins he’s always there recovering and helping, sometimes showing some frustration and that is good because he wants more. I think he has potential to be so much better in every situation in the game. What I can say is he understood what I was trying to do, was really clear, I just want to help them but in the end it’s them that do the job.”
Manchester United will next take on Fulham at the Craven Cottage on Sunday night.
