Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens said the team must get sour taste of late Tottenham draw out of their mouth. After a goalless first half, Bryan Mbeumo scored for the home team in the 73rd minute.
However, Dominic Solanke spoiled the party for Manchester United as he scored in the stoppage time to level the score.
Boos reverberated around Old Trafford after United blew up their lead and was forced to share the spoils.
Lammens said: “It’s very disappointing because you find a way to get the game, to get the advantage, to score a goal, to get 1-0 up against 10 men.
“That’s the position you want to be in, so it’s very disappointing to get the last goal against us at the end.
“We need to learn from it a lot, because these are the games you have to try to pull towards yourself.
“To win these games is very important if you want to get a good season, so it’s very important for us to learn from this and to move on, to get these games behind us.”
United have managed only six points in the first six games of the Premier League and it has been a disappointing start for the Old Trafford-based team.
“I mean, you can look at it both ways, to be honest,” Lammens said. “We know there are a lot of games coming very fast.
“After a disappointment, you can take that disappointment with you, or you can get it changed real quick and know there’s a game coming up very quickly.
“For me personally, if I maybe don’t have the best game, I’m looking forward to the next game to get that sour feeling out of my mouth, so I think that’s the feeling we have to get.
“We know we showed a lot of good things as well today, so take those things and learn from the bad things. There are a lot of very important games, but we also love to play those games.
“We fought last year to be in the Champions League, so we’re very happy to be there. And if you want to go far in that competition as well, you have to win those games as well.”
United will next take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
