Hyderabad FC interim head coach Shameel Chembakath urged his players to remain stable and disciplined in defence after the loss against East Bengal FC. The Nawabs suffered a 0-2 loss against the Red and Gold Brigade at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium, Kolkata in the ongoing Indian Super League on Wednesday.
When it seemed that both teams might share a point each, Manoj Mohammed scored an own goal in the 86th minute. Subsequently, East Bengal FC’s new acquisition Raphael Bouli scored in the stoppage time to give a 2-0 win to his team.
Chembakath believes his team was good in the first half but they didn’t play with discipline in the second half.
“Yeah, I think a good first half, we started well. But in the second half, defensively we are not disciplined. We just need to be more calm, more composed. I think too much pressure was on set pieces and on the number of set pieces which we conceded. I think this is one of the things which we need to work on, we also need to be more stable and disciplined in defence,” Chembakath stated during the post-match press conference.
Hyderabad FC had 53.5% possession and took four shots on target against the home team.
The Nizams have suffered 13 losses in the ongoing season and Chembakath wants his team to finish strongly in the last two games of the tournament.
“I think we just need to focus on the next two matches. That’s the last two matches in ISL. I think we just need to be focused and prepared to make it a positive result for the coming match,” he concluded.
Hyderabad FC will next take on Punjab FC at the GMC Balayogi Stadium, Hyderabad on 6th March.
