The 11th season of the Indian Super League ended after Mohun Bagan Super Giant won the title after beating Bengaluru FC by 2-1 in the summit clash at Kolkata on Saturday. The Mariners also lifted the League Shield title after topping the ISL standings in the regular season.
Throughout the edition, we witnessed some amazing performances from the players. We take a look at the top three goal-scorers of the ISL 2024-25 season.
- Alaaeddine Ajaraie: In 25 matches of ISL 2024-25, Ajaraie scored 23 goals and provided seven assists, and played a key role in taking NorthEast United to the playoffs. Thus, NorthEast United FC striker won the Golden Boot as well as the Golden Ball award. The Moroccan also became the fastest player to score 10 goals in an ISL season. This was Ajaraie’s first season in the ISL and he was able to hit the ground running.
- Sunil Chhetri: India’s veteran striker Sunil Chhetri, 40, proved once again that age is just a number. Chhetri scored 14 goals and provided two assists in 28 matches of the season for Bengaluru FC and played a key role in taking the Blues to the final of the tournament. Chhetri was at his absolute best and even returned to the Blue Tigers squad because of his red-hot form.
- Jamie Maclaren: Mohun Bagan Super Giant striker Jamie Maclaren scored 12 goals in 25 matches for the Kolkata-based club. The Australian, thus, played an instrumental role in taking the Mariners to the double of League Shield and ISL Cup glory. Maclaren also scored the match-winning goal in the final against Bengaluru FC in the 96th minute to seal the deal for Jose Molina’s team.
