Real Madrid’s new recruit Trent Alexander-Arnold said joining the Spanish giants is a dream come true for him. The right-back said he is ready to win a lot of trophies with Los Blancos after he signed a six-year contract at the club.
The former Liverpool player’s arrival was confirmed by Real Madrid last month. The England International’s contract with Real Madrid will run until June 30, 2031.
TAA was presented by president Florentino Perez at the club’s Valdebebas training ground, before facing questions from the media in a news conference.
“Thank you to Florentino Perez and Real Madrid for this opportunity,” he said. “Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn’t happen every day. It’s a dream come true. I’m happy and proud to be here. I’m excited to show my game to the Madrid fans.
“I’m aware of what it means to play for Real Madrid, it’s a big responsibility, but I’m ready. I want to win a lot of trophies and be a champion, and keep growing. Thank you, and Hala Madrid.”
Perez called Alexander-Arnold “a player who’s won it all.”
“We know what it means for you to play for Real Madrid,” Perez said. “You could have gone to any club in the world, but you chose us and that’s something our fans will never forget… If you’ve chosen to play here, it’s because your talent makes you believe you’ll achieve new successes here.
“The Bernabeu awaits you, where you’ll experience incredible things. You’ll find players who are a big family, one of them your friend, Jude Bellingham. You’ll soon understand what Real Madrid is. Each trophy pushes you to win the next one.”
The 26-year-old won the 2019 Champions League and the 2020 and 2025 Premier League titles with the Reds.
Arnold was also part of England’s squad in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, and Euro 2024.
