Hockey India Announces 32-Member Squad for FIH Pro League 2024-25 Bhubaneswar Leg

Hockey India has unveiled a 32-member squad for the Bhubaneswar leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25, set to take place at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium from February 15 to 25. The Indian team, led by captain Harmanpreet Singh and vice-captain Hardik Singh, will face Spain, Germany, Ireland, and England, playing each team twice.  

The squad features first-choice goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak, alongside Suraj Karkera and Princedeep Singh. The defensive unit will be marshaled by Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, and Jugraj Singh, with additional support from Sumit, Sanjay, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Varun Kumar, and Yashdeep Siwach.  

In midfield, Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, and Nilakanta Sharma will bring experience, while Rajkumar Pal, Shamsher Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, and Rajinder Singh add depth.  

The attacking department is spearheaded by Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Abhishek, and Gurjant Singh, with emerging talents like Boby Singh Dhami, Shilanand Lakra, and Dilpreet Singh adding firepower. Angad Bir Singh and Arshdeep Singh, who have impressed in the junior team and Hockey India League, have earned their first senior team call-ups.  

Coach Craig Fulton’s Take on the Squad  

Expressing confidence in the selected players, Indian Men’s Team Head Coach Craig Fulton said, “Extremely happy with the squad we have selected for the upcoming Bhubaneswar leg matches of the FIH Pro League 2024-25. I believe this team can win us games, perform in harmony, and most importantly, play an impressive brand of hockey. Looking forward to training with the players in the camp and starting our Pro League campaign on the right note.”  

He also highlighted the selection process, stating, “I have been scouting these players over the last few weeks and am excited to see what they do against some of the best international teams in the world.”
