The Hockey India joined the remaining 38 other National Associations around the world to be a bonafide member of the World Masters Hockey [WMH]
The Hockey India appointed former India Captain RP Singh as the convener of Hockey India Master’s committee. He is majority to oversee the activities and carry out due responsibilities for the Federation.
Mr Harbinder Singh was also appointed the chairman of the committee with Mr BP Govinda, Mr Jagbir Singh, Dr AB Subbaiah, Ms Surinder Kaur and Ms M Renuka Lakshmi appointed as members of the committee.
The World Masters Hockey is a top Masters body duly registered and recognised by the International Hockey Federation [FIH]. They are also saddled with the responsibility of organising international Masters Hockey around the world.
The World Masters Hockey will make sure to carve out opportunities for players and officials from different countries o continue their participation in the game of Hockey throughout their lifetime. And this is to keep the growth of Masters Hockey around the globe.
The President of the Hockey India Federation president Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad expressed his delight about the Hockey India decision to join the World Masters Hockey, and he revealed that it is a beautiful initiative that will create opportunities for all age brackets for both male and female to push their passion for the game of hockey continually and remain active in the sport.
By the projects undertaken by the World Masters Hockey, the Hockey India will schedule events that will encourage the participation of Masters Hockey and advise all the ex-players of the game to embrace the stick again and give encouragements to the upcoming players to participate in the sport.
“I believe we have made the right selections of the committee to take up this challenge”. He added.
