India Storms Into Super 4s with 12-0 Rout of Singapore at Women’s Asia Cup 2025

India secured their place in the Super 4 stage of the Women’s Asia Cup 2025 in emphatic fashion, dismantling Singapore 12-0 at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium on Monday. The dominant display not only sealed qualification but also propelled India to the top of Pool B on goal difference, edging past Japan.

It was a performance marked by attacking flair and clinical execution, with forwards Mumtaz Khan and Navneet Kaur leading the charge. Both players registered hat-tricks, setting the tone early and maintaining pressure throughout all four quarters of the game.

Mumtaz wasted no time in making her mark, finding the net in just the second minute of play. That early breakthrough opened the floodgates as India put four goals past Singapore in the opening quarter alone. The second quarter saw India maintain their tempo, adding three more goals to take a commanding 7-0 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, India’s momentum continued unabated. The team added another four goals, capitalizing on Singapore’s inability to withstand the relentless Indian attack. The final quarter saw a lone goal from India, capping off the 12-0 rout and sealing their qualification in style.

India’s journey in the tournament so far has been a blend of dominance and resilience. They opened their campaign with an authoritative 11-0 victory over Thailand, showcasing their strength in both attack and defence. Their second match, however, tested their resolve, as they were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw by Japan—a result that left Pool B wide open before the final group-stage matches.

The win over Singapore not only ensured progression to the Super 4s but also reaffirmed India’s status as one of the title contenders. With goal-scoring form peaking and key players like Mumtaz Khan and Navneet Kaur delivering when it matters most, India will look to carry this momentum into the next phase of the tournament.

The Super 4 stage will see the top two teams from each group battle it out in a round-robin format for a place in the final. As India gears up for tougher challenges ahead, their clinical performances in the group stage have sent a clear message to their continental rivals: they are here not just to compete, but to win.
