UPB Fight Club Season 4, Edition 7 – The City of Dreams can’t get enough of the UPB Fight Club action, a partnership which is looking like heralding another chapter in the fight scene of the Maximum City.
UPB Fight Club is set to churn out its 25th edition on 15th of February 2025, with some up and coming local talents looking forward to making their names on the circuit. A love affair which began more than a year ago with the Maximum City seems to be solidifying by the day as another Event is going to take place this Saturday to entertain the Fight Fans of India’s Big Apple
The Main Fight of the Night is the Super Middleweight clash between Gaurav Bisht and Thilak Selvam for 6 Rounds. Gaurav has had a blistering start to his career with two back-to-back KO wins in the previous two months. He is now up against a 10-Bout veteran in Thilak, who also deals in KOs, with all his previous 4 wins and 6 losses having been through KOs. He had a chequered start to his career in 2021-2023 but has since made a comeback with 3 back-to-back KO wins in 2024. He would be raring to go against Gaurav to get another KO win under his Belt, which would not be a walk-in-the-park by any stretch of imagination. This is going to be a belter of a Top Card on this Fight Night and the audiences would love to get in on the thrill of this one.
The Co-Main Fight between Amarnath Yadav and Pawan Kumar Arya for 6-Rounds in the Super Bantamweight category is a rematch of their 2023 battle. Amar is making a comeback to the Ring since his loss to Pawan more than one and a half years ago. Since that win, Pawan has had only 3 Fights with only 1 win among them and 2 losses on the International circuit. More than the technique, this Bout is going to be a battle of pride for both the warriors, with Amar looking to avenge his loss and Pawan looking to make a strong comeback since his chequered past 18 months. Most Fight Fans are waiting for this duel as the winner will not only have a huge psychological uplift but that may also become the start of a resurgence in his career. So, a lot is riding on this Bout for both the Boxers and the Fans can also enjoy a gruelling contest in this.
The Cruiserweight duel between Pushpak Varma and Yuvraj Singh for 4 Rounds would allow the audience to see action from the heavier weight class. These Fights are usually slower and more tactical than slam-bam seen in the lighter weight classes. Both Pushpak and Yuvraj are coming from strong wins in their previous bouts and they both are raring to go at each other in order to establish supremacy in this weight class. This could potentially be the most absorbing contest of the evening and would be the toughest Fight to Call for the audience, thus making it a belter.
The 4-Round clash between Gopal and Harsh Sharma in the Super Flyweight category is one of the unpredictable Bouts of the evening. Harsh opened his win-account last month with a 1st Round TKO victory against Mohit and is raring to go for his second one. However, he is up against debutant Gopal who has a stellar record in the Amateur circuit with 4-Gold medal wins in the Maharashtra State-level competitions and has participated in the Senior Nationals and was part of the Indian Olympic Camp. This would be classic one for the Fans to savour as it would not only give local flavour through Gopal but also would be Harsh’s baptism by real boxing class. It would remain to be seen whether he comes up good or withers away in the Gopal-storm.
The Super Lightweight Bout for 4 Rounds between Ayush Roy and debutant Prajwal Bhoyar is anything but a forgone conclusion as Prajwal is a seasoned Ametur Boxer with a Silver medal in the Maharashtra State-level championship from his four participations and has also represented the State in the Senior Nationals. Both are home-State boys, so the audience is likely to be divided and Prajwal possesses enough skills to blunt Ayush’s blows. This is going to be a thriller of a contest and is unlikely to be a walk-in-the-park for Ayush this time around for certain.
The other 4-Round Super Flyweight clash between Amir Shaikh and debutant Chirag Jadhav will see two young guns going head-to-head in this Bout. Amir made a winning comeback to the Ring last month after a hiatus of one year whereas Chirag’s first jaunt in the Professional Ring would see this star-kid from the Amateur circuit, with a 100% win record in 20 Bouts, try to make convincing and winning start to his Professional career. Amir would do anything to not let another blemish come on his record and to the winning start he has had in 2025 whereas Chirag would want to carry on with his win-record in the Sport onto the pro-circuit when making his entry. This would be one of the Fights of the Night one can’t afford to take their eyes off from.
The Event opener is a 4-Round Featherweight clash between Niraj Thakur and debutant Prabuddahpal Bansode. Niraj had a loss against his name in his debut Fight five months ago and is raring to get his first win whereas Bansode comes with medal-winning experience in his six participatory experiences in the Maharashtra State-level competitions. Niraj is a restrained type of a Fighter whereas Bansode is aggressive from the first Bell. This promises to be an explosive opening to the evening and Fans would relish such a start to the Event under the stars
