This 22nd Edition of UPB Fight Club is upon us this weekend and promises to bring down the curtain on this year in an explosive manner with some experienced Boxers coming up against resilient Talents and some prospects have to finally rise up to their potential now in their career.
The Main Fight of the Night is the Super Bantamweight clash between Keisham Raju Singh and Saurabh Kumar for 8 Rounds. This is a rematch from the contest which happened two years ago on the 8th Edition of UPB Fight Club, which Saurabh had won with a TKO (Technical Knock-Out). Saurabh is a very cautious Boxer and likes to assess his opponent before making a charge whilst Raju is explosive from the first bell. It is pertinent to also remind readers that Raju had a very close loss in the 11th Edition of UPB Fight Club in June 2023 against Adil, which many touted as the best and most polished performance anyone had seen from him. He would be very keen to surpass that this time against Saurabh and try his best avenge his loss from two years ago. The completely contrasting styles from both the Boxers are bound to entertain the Viewers.
The Co-Main Fight between Rahul Singh and Sumit Kumar is an 8-Round duel in the Super Welterweight category. Rahul came back to the Ring in July this year, after a year-long hiatus, and has had two TKO wins since and thus would look to finish the year strongly with another such emphatic win. Sumit, in the other Corner of the Ring, is no pushover though. He is touted to have one of the strongest chins in the circuit and would want to make a strong mark, especially when he is coming back to the Ring after a hiatus of 16 months. This is a must watch Fight.
The highly anticipated Battle of the evening is the 6-Round clash between Harsh Saroha and Iarapborsing Kharbani in the Super Bantamweight category. Harsh is undefeated in all his previous five duels since his debut-draw at the start of this year. But Kharbani is the strongest opponent he is going to face in his career so far. This will be Harsh’ true baptism by boxing fire and could pave to be a turning point in his ascent or descent among the Prospects in Indian boxing. And Kharbani, in the very event Harsh had debuted, showcased his prowess against a superior opponent in Saurabh by drawing that 8-Round duel. This is a blockbuster showdown.
The other Super Bantamweight Bout for 4 Rounds between Ayush Singh and Shivam Sharma would be an interesting affair as Ayush is on his way to a comeback from two early losses in his short career whereas Shivam opened his account with a win against Shubham in UPB Fight Club Season 4 opener in August this year. Ayush is a controlled Fighter and would like to size up Shivam before launching his attacks and would look for chinks in Shivam’s defence. On the other hand, Shivam would want to capitalise on this cautious approach in the beginning of the Fight and would want to take Ayush down. These two could start the evening with an explosion.
The Light Heavyweight duel between Amit Singh and Atul Kumar for 4 Rounds would allow the audience to see action from the heavier weight class. These Fights are normally slower and more tactical than slam-bam seen in the lighter weight classes. Amit had a TKO in his debut last month at UPB Fight Club’s 21st Edition whereas Atul would want to last out the 4 Rounds this time, unlike in his previous three stints in the Ring. This is the 3rd Bout of the evening.
The Event opener is the 4-Round Middleweight clash between debutant Gaurav Bisht and Mukesh Sharma, who debuted in last month’s UPB Fight Club. Gaurav is a decorated Amateur Boxer and has won many Medals and Championships on the circuit. Mukesh, on the other hand, had an unfavourable start to his career with split-loss against Bhavesh and would want to make amends against Gaurav else he risks sliding down the slippery slope quickly in his career.
As the UPB Fight Club juggernaut rolls on with new and promising Talents making it their home and launchpad, Fans of the Sport can expect nothing less than the best action to come from the UPB Fight Club stable. Here’s to another evening of superlative Boxing action which promises to entice and enthral the audiences. Let us all enjoy the fireworks in the Ring one last time this year.
