Another Season and another opportunity for the talented Indian Boxers to showcase their talent to the world. UPB Fight Club returns for its 27th Edition to the City of Dreams – Mumbai, which now seems to be its new home. This edition will see Boxers from all the four corners of the country and thus continuing the tradition of UPB being the truly pan-India promotion that it is.
The Main Fight of the Night is the 6-Round Super Lightweight clash between Harendra Singh Khangarot and Jitendra Thakur. Singh last fought in Feb 2025 and that too on the UPB Card, where he lost to Amey Nitin via TKO, though before such an outcome, he did go toe-to-toe with the veteran Amey. He is coming from 3 back-to-back losses and will find it tough against Thakur, who has had two back-to-back wins in Apr 2025, the second one being a narrow win. Singh would want to prove himself as no pushover and would want to take the fight to Thakur, whose silent determination to dominate his Weight Class is likely to show no signs of slowing down.
The Co-Main Fight is between Gaurav Bisht and Mishab PK for 6 Rounds in the Super Middleweight category. Bisht is one of the hottest and youngest Prospects on the Indian Boxing circuit and has notched up 4 KOs wins since debuting in Dec ‘24. A hard-hitter and an aggressive Boxer, he is easily mistaken for a teenager pursuing academics rather than knocking people out with punches. Mishab, on the other hand, has had an up-and-down start to his Career, and would be looking to cause an upset at the start of the Season. But Gaurav might just hold the edge.
The Super Bantamweight duel between Bikram Mallick and Pawan Kumar Arya for 6 Rounds shouldn’t be seen by anyone as a one-sided contest. Bikram is coming back to the Ring after a long hiatus of 1.5 years after his loss in Dhaka. He is up against Pawan, who too came back to the Ring in Feb 2025, after almost a year. Bikram is an aggressive starter and Pawan holds the game till he can find his opening, which is what Bikram would have to watch out for. He will have his task cut-out against Pawan and this by no means would be an easy return to the Ring for him
The 4-Round clash between Mohd. Awes Khan and Sunny Sarvatta in the Light Heavyweight category is another one of the heavier Bouts of the evening. Awes has had a blazing start to his career with three TKO wins whereas Sunny will be doing his best to upset that momentum, especially since he himself is reeling from two back-to-back losses. This is expected to be an explosive Bout and the audiences are bound to enjoy the heavier bodies punching at each other.
The Featherweight clash between Brijesh Kumar and Yuvraj Chaudhary for 4 Rounds could be a see-saw one to say the least. Brijesh has just started off his career with a win whilst Yuvraj suffered a loss just in his second Bout. He is raring to make amends for that and would go hard at Brijesh. He on the other hand, would want to continue his winning start with his wait-and-watch style of Boxing. This pitted against Yuvraj’s aggressive style would be a delectable watch for the Fight Fans. This is definitely an unpredictable Bout of the evening.
The second Featherweight 4-Round clash of the debutants between Amay Sargade and Shrikant Gaikwad is a surprise package of the evening. Both have experience at the Maharashtra State-level competitions and are young bloods raring to start their careers with a win. Amay is a resolute Boxer who is hard to break down whereas Shrikant is dogged enough to not let his opponents get an inch of advantage over him. Another tough one to Call on the Night.
The Event opener is a 4-Round Light Flyweight clash between Amruta Kale and Ishaana Gole, which is as unpredictable as they come. This is the first time UPB is starting a Season and Event with an all-women clash. Amruta won her first Bout in Feb 2025 with a TKO win and would go hard on Ishaana, who has experience at the Maharashtra-State level competitions. The first Bout of the evening itself is such a contrast of emotions that it can set the Ball rolling for the rest of the evening for the audiences and promises to be a cracker of a start.
