With the 21-day curfew in full force at Chandigarh, Indian golfer, Aadil Bedi has created a makeshift teeing ground at his home.
The 21 days lockdown is to curtail the spread of dreaded coronavirus pandemic, which is affecting the globe. India is one of the countries with weak health facilities. To avoid unnecessary casualties and cases, the authorities have enforced the order.
Indian athletes have also given their support to the authorities by urging their followers across the social media to adhere to the health guidelines provided by experts by practising self-isolation as top countries in the world battles the pandemic. Presently, over 70000 deaths have been recorded while over 1,200,000 people have been infected.
19-year-old Bedi who is based in Chandigarh and begun the game at the age of five recently won his first professional title at the Bengal Open Golf Championship 2020.
Following the government’s order, Bedi has chosen his front yard for swing practising. He had to do this by tying mattresses in the lawn as he tried improving his tee shot.
While tweeting a video of his routine, Bedi said the difficult time would pass, and he called for calm. He also urged people to use the opportunity they now have by spending time with their families and learn new things.
He further revealed that part of what he has been doing in the learning of a new language.
The golfer also revealed that he has been analysing his performance with computer software and a sensor tracker, which are Trackman, KVest, and sensor-level plates.
He further noted that the software helps him to analyse the elevation, direction, and speed of the swing while the trackman which is placed behind his spot where he stands for a shot.
On his fitness routine, the 19-year-old said he runs on a treadmill at home to keep fit while also taking online coaching from his coach Bob Bayman.
