Ultimate Table Tennis: All you need to know about 4th season

The Ultimate Table Tennis will return and the top Indian as well as foreign players will take part in the fourth season of the tournament. The competition will run from July 13 to July 31. The matches will be played at Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune.

The inaugural edition of the franchise-based TT league was first played in 2017. The last season was played back in 2019 and after that, it came to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2019 edition was won by Chennai Lions when veteran Sharath Kamal bested Dabang Delhi TTC G Sathiyan in the final in Delhi.

Meanwhile, the second edition was won by Dabang Delhi TTC led by Manika Batra and Sathiyan, while Falcons TTC won the inaugural edition.

Indian players like Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Manav Thakkar, Sutirtha Mukherjee, and Manika Batra had taken part in the previous edition of the league. Moreover, overseas players like Olympic medallist Petrissa Solja of Germany and world championships medallist Tiago Apolónia of Portugal also took part in the tournament.

Five teams – U Mumba TT, Puneri Paltan Table Tennis, Goa Challengers, Dabang Delhi TTC, and RPSG Mavericks Kolkata had taken part in the last edition of 2019. These five teams and Bengaluru Smashers, who will be the new addition to the league, will take part in the upcoming season.

The tournament is owned by 11Sports and the live broadcasting and telecast will be available on Hotstar and Star Sports respectively.
