I don’t play for money – Jannik Sinner after $6million win at Six Kings Slam

World No.1 Jannik Sinner has revealed he doesn’t play for money after winning a whopping amount of $6 million at Six Kings Slam. The Italian defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the summit clash in Riyadh and claimed the biggest prize check in tennis history, surpassing Novak Djokovic’s prize of $4,740,300 at the 2022 ATP Finals.

Sinner, who won two Slams in 2024, said it was a good challenge for him to test himself against the top five players in the world. Earlier, Sinner also defeated Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the cash-rich tournament.

“I don’t play for money. It’s very simple. Of course it’s a nice prize, but I went there because there was possibly the six best players in the world and you can measure yourself with them. It was also a nice event.

“I played the matches in the right way and this can hopefully improve me as a player also for the future.”

Sinner is now all set to take part in the Paris Masters and he could potentially face Ben Shelton in the second round of the ATP 1000 event.

“Yeah, it’s a very, very tough draw,” Sinner said in his pre-tournament press conference. “But, you know, we go day by day. Then everything can happen. The draw can open up sometimes, or, you know, you never know what’s coming.

“I try to prepare in the best possible way for the first-round match. It’s going to be very difficult against Ben. It’s very, very difficult in any case.”

Sinner has a bye to the second round as the top seed in Paris. The Italian will either face Ben Shelton or a qualifier/lucky loser.
