Former World No.1 Jimmy Connors is hopeful that Felix Auger-Aliassime is not satisfied after he ended his 2025 season with three titles. The Canadian also ended 2025 as the ranked number five player in the PIF ATP rankings.
Auger-Aliassime also reached the semifinal of the Nitto ATP Finals but suffered a straight set loss against Carlos Alcaraz.
The Canadian also reached the later stages of the big events consistently. Felix qualified for the semifinal of the US Open but lost to Jannik Sinner.
“Heart goes a long way. Guts, goes a long way. Anybody can win when they are playing a 110%. Anybody can come off and win that. It’s when you’ve figured out a way when you are only 70% and your opponents are 100% that makes you a legacy… I’m happy for him, but I just hope that he is not satisfied. That he continues to grow and get better and come out and win a Grand Slam. I mean, that would be tremendous because he’s been around for a while. He’s not 22 years old. He’s 25, so young,” said Jimmy Connors on Advantage Connors.
On the other hand, Felix admitted it is always challenging to face the duo of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz as they are the two best players on the tour.
“I mean, the ranking doesn’t lie. They’re the two best players. That’s the facts. Different game styles, but both put extreme pressure on their opponent in different ways. Yeah, I don’t need to get into even how they play. We all know. We’ve seen them for the last few years. We know what to expect. They keep showing up and playing good, so credit to them,” said Felix Auger-Aliassime (via tennis365.com).
Felix would look to carry his good form in 2026 season.
