World No.2 Jannik Sinner has revealed that he has been working hard on his game since losing to Novak Djokovic in the semifinal of the Australian Open. The Italian suffered a five-set loss against the Serbian and could not defend his title in Melbourne.
Sinner is now all set to take part at the Qatar Open and he said he has been working hard on his serve. The youngster said he is also working hard in the gym sessions.
Speaking to official ATP media, Jannik Sinner said, “We work on honestly, at the moment, the usual stuff and trying to get a very solid serve at the moment, which is where we work a lot on.
“Also, a lot in the gym. You know, the gym sessions are very important. I try to take an extra step forward in that scenario, and that’s it, you know. Honestly, the season has started; a lot of work has been done in our pre-season.
“Of course, we try to keep working, but also to maintain the level of fitness too. So I think everything is going quite well, of course, you know, you need to play some matches, trying to have the best feedback when you go into it.”
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner was practising with Arthur Fils ahead of the Qatar Open. Sinner registered a comprehensive 6-1, 6-4 win against Tomas Machac in the round of 32.
The number two seed will next take on Australia’s Alexei Popyrin in the round of 16 on Wednesday.
