Novak Djokovic won’t walk his way to Wimbledon title: Boris Beckor

Former legendary Tennis player Boris Beckor reckons it won’t be a cakewalk for Novak Djokovic to win the ongoing Wimbledon. Djokovic has already made it to the round of 16 in the ongoing tournament and he has dropped a solitary set in the first three matches.

Meanwhile, Djokovic is regarded as one of the big favorites to win the Wimbledon title. Djokovic has already won Australian Open and French Open in 2021 and his aim will be to try and go all the way in Wimbledon.

The Serbian has thus far won 19 Grand slam titles in his glorious career and he is on the cusp of equalling Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s tally of 20 titles.

However, Boris Beckor feels the pressure could get to Djokovic when he will inch closer to the title and it is not going to be easy for the World No.1 to win Wimbledon.

Boris Beckor wrote for the Daily Mail, “Novak WON’T walk it,” Becker said. “Some of the men left in the draw are being underestimated, and Novak Djokovic has another opponent that should not be discounted — history. The nearer he (Novak Djokovic) gets to the final and a possible 20th Grand Slam title, the more this pressure will build and the more he will be reminded of it.”

“Djokovic will not be viewing this title as a certainty, I can assure you, and nobody else should either,” Becker added.

Meanwhile, Djokovic has become the first Tennis player to win at least 75 matches in all the four majors after his Round 3 win against America’s Denis Kudla. Furthermore, the World no.1 is also inching towards Calendar Golden Grand slam.

On the other hand, Becker believes Matteo Berrettini and Alexander Zverev can upset Roger Federer in the coming matches.

“It would not be a great surprise to me if the men’s finalist from the bottom of the draw comes from the winner of a likely quarterfinal between Matteo Berrettini and Alex Zverev,” added the German. “The Italian and the German have so much natural power, and they are a real force on grass. I don’t think Federer would relish playing either of them.”
