Olympic and World Championship silver medalist winner P.V Sindhu has revealed on Monday making assertions that sporting activities can help in winning the fight against the global pandemic spread.
The shuttler has advised and urged everyone to engage in physical activities as a vaccine for the virus hasn’t been discovered yet. The deadly viral pandemic spread has seen over 8.5 million people infected and which has also claimed the lives of over 450,000 lives across the world.
Sindhu told reporters at the inaugural Virtual Healthcare and Hygiene Expo 2020 saying sporting activities and regular exercises are very vital in the help to maintain a healthy immune system since no vaccine has been found for it.
“Sports can help us in combating this deadly disease. We must strictly adhere to the recommendations of the WHO, which say Adults must at least engage in 300 minutes moderate aerobic activity each week to fight the risk of heart disease diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, and cancer, which is more critical during this dark times.”
The shuttler added that she would personally recommend everyone to engage in every form of exercise for at least 45 minutes or more.
Other top shuttlers apart from Sindhu have had to remain indoors following the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of the disease.
