LA Lakers Anthony Davis and Atlanta Hawks Rajon Rondo share a great bonhomie with each other. Rondo and Davis had played together for New Orleans Pelicans whereas Davis joined Rondo in the LA Lakers and both of them shared great chemistry on the court. Both of them played a key role in taking the Lakers to the championship in 2020.
Now Rajon Rondo plays for Atlanta Hawks and he was up against Davis on Tuesday. The Lakers came out on top as they won by 107-99. Davis top-scored for his team for the second consecutive time as he registered 25 points. LeBron James also contributed as he scored 21 points.
On the other hand, Rajon Rondo scored five points as he came off the bench. Meanwhile, Davis believes the veteran will make a great coach as he is brilliant with his inputs. Rondo has all the experience under his belt and he can guide the players on the right track.
Antony Davis said, “That’s always been his dream to be a coach… He’s a coach on the floor even when he’s not playing he’s coaching… I can definitely see him being a head coach. I think that’s what he wants to do… He’ll make one hell of a coach.”
Meanwhile, Rondo had played at the top of his game in the previous playoff season for the LA Lakers and he was able to get the best out of the team whenever he got the opportunity in the absence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Atlanta Hawks have won 10 matches whereas they have lost as many. However, Rondo hasn’t been consistently getting his opportunities in the starting five.
Lakers have won 16 matches while they have lost only six matches. The Lakers will next face Denver Nuggets on the 5th of February.
