Los Angeles Clippers’ guard Lou Williams will need to quarantine himself for 10 days before he can rejoin the team. The league has decided to take this call after an investigation which was launched after his excused absence. Williams was photographed by rapper Jack Harlow at the Magic City gentleman’s club in Atlanta.
Harlow had posted Williams’ picture on his Instagram story. In the picture, Williams is holding a drink and wearing an NBA mask which was given at the Orlando campus.
However, Harlow soon deleted the picture from his Instagram handle. Harlow tweeted Friday, “That was an old pic of me and Lou. I was just reminiscing cuz I miss him.”
Sources close to ESPN, reveal that Williams was questioned by NBA security about his whereabouts while he was away from the campus. In fact, Williams had taken permission to attend the funeral of Paul G. Williams, who was the father of a close family friend.
Williams told the NBA investigators that he had attended the funeral, which ended around 6 pm on Thursday and then went to Magic City, which is favourite place for dinner.
On Friday, Lou Williams wrote in a tweet, “Ask any of my teammates what my favorite restaurant in Atlanta is. Ain’t nobody partying. Chill out lol.”
As per the NBA policy, Williams was tested for coronavirus each day he was away from the campus, a source confirmed ESPN. Players are subjected to minimum four-day quarantine after they leave the campus area for excused absence.
However, Williams will need to spend 10 days in quarantine, which means that the 33-year old will miss the first two matches of the season restart in the NBA bubble, including the much-awaited match against LA Lakers, which will take place on 31st July.
