Aakash Chopra picks current ODI XI, Eoin Morgan to captain

 

Former Indian opener and now a famous broadcaster Aakash Chopra has picked his current ODI XI in which he selected England’s World Cup winning skipper Eoin Morgan to lead the side. Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma and Shai Hope open the innings for Chopra. Rohit Sharma has scored 9115 runs in 224 ODI matches at an average of 49.27. Hope, who also takes the wicket-keeping gloves, has scored 3289 runs in 76 ODI matches at an average of 51.39.

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli bats at number three as the talisman is the most consistent batsman in the ODI format. Kohli has scored 11867 runs in 248 matches at an impressive average of 59.33. New Zealand veteran batsman Ross Taylor bats at number four for Aakash Chopra as he has amassed 8574 runs in 232 matches at an average of 48.44.

Eoin Morgan bats at number five for the former Indian Test opener. Morgan has been instrumental in the success of the England team. The southpaw has scored 7368 runs in 236 ODI matches at an average of 39.20.

Shakib Al Hasan and Ben Stokes are the two main all-rounders in the side. Shakib has been a consistent performer for Bangladesh as he has accumulated 6323 runs in 206 ODI matches at an average of 37.86 and he has scalped 260 wickets.

On the other hand, Ben Stokes has played 95 ODI matches in which he claimed 70 wickets and has scored 2682 runs.

Mitchell Starc, Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Shami constitute the pace battery in Aakash Chopra’s team. Starc has been the leading wicket-taker in the last two World Cups. The Australian has snared 191 wickets in 91 ODI matches at an impressive average 22.22. Ferguson has impressed with his pace and he has scalped 69 wickets in 37 ODI matches.

Shami has bagged 144 wickets in 77 ODI matches at an average of 25.42. Kuldeep Yadav is the solitary main spinner in the side as the chinaman has taken 104 wickets in 60 ODI matches at an average of 26.16.

Pakistan ODI skipper Babar Azam is the 12th man of the side as the stylish batsman has scored 3359 runs in 74 ODI matches at an average of 54.18.
