The first three Ashes Test matches were full of thrill as the matches went down to the wire. However the fourth Test match was thoroughly dominated by the hosts but no result was possible because of relentless rain on the final two days at Old Trafford, Manchester, which allowed only 30 overs on the penultimate day whereas no play was possible on the final day.
With this rain-affected draw, Australia have retained the Ashes whereas England will be looking to draw level in the series. Zak Crawley was able to deliver at the top of the order with a scintillating knock of 189 runs off just 182 balls. The England opener took the Australian bowling attack to the cleaners and played the best knock of his career.
On the other hand, Marnus Labuschagne got back to form for Australia and it is a big positive for the visitors. Furthermore, they might think of playing Todd Murphy as Cameron Green hasn’t been at his absolute best in the three Test matches he has played in the series.
