Australia will take on India in the fifth Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series at the Sydney Cricket Ground from Friday onwards. The hosts took a 2-1 lead in the series after registering a massive win of 184 runs at the MCG.
Australia came up with a collective batting performance in the last Test and they would look to carry the good show in the final Test. Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, and Pat Cummins also scored valuable runs for the team. Furthermore, Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Scott Boland were right on the money with the ball.
On the other hand, India would be disappointed after losing the previous Test as they could have easily played out a draw. However, the visitors lost seven wickets in the last session of the final day and it turned the tables in hosts’ favor. India will need to come up with an improved batting show at the SCG.
Stats Preview:
Mohammed Siraj needs four wickets to complete 100 wickets in Test format.
Nathan Lyon needs a dozen wickets to complete 550 wickets in Test cricket.

Australia’s talisman batter Steve Smith needs 38 runs to reach the 10000-run mark in Test format. Smith will become the fourth Australian batter after Alan Border, Steve Waugh, and Ricky Ponting to achieve the feat.
