Bangladesh vs India, 1st Test, Chattogram – Match Prediction

After a disappointing result in the ODI series, India will want to bounce back stronger against Bangladesh in the two-match Test series with the first game to be played at Chhatogram from Wednesday. The visitors have been struck by a plethora of injuries and they will have their work cut out.

Rohit Sharma has been ruled out with a thumb injury and KL Rahul will lead in his place. Jaydev Unadkat, Saurabh Kumar and Navdeep Saini have been added to India’s Test squad after Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami were ruled out due to their respective injuries.

India will play Test cricket after a long time as they had last played against England back in July. Players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant will have to prove themselves as both of them are under scrutiny.

On the other hand, Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh and he will look to get the best out of his players. The home team will aim to come up with a collective effort and make the most of their own conditions.

Mosaddek Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman will miss the Test series for the Tigers. Thus, the onus will be on players like Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan, Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim.

Match Prediction: India will enter the contest as red-hot favorites against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh squad for 1st Test: Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Najmul Hassan Shanto, Mominul Haque, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan (C), Litton Das, Nurul Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Zakir Hasan, Rejaur Rahman Raja, Anamul Haque Bijoy.

India’s updated squad for Bangladesh Tests: KL Rahul (C), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara (VC), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Mohd.
