The series is done and dusted with India taking an impregnable lead of 2-0 after winning the second game by six wickets at Indore but Afghanistan’s head coach Jonathan Trott insisted there is a lot to play for. The two teams will play the final T20I of the series at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Chinnaswamy’s track is well-known as a run-fest and both team’s batters will be licking their lips. Afghanistan batters have failed to post a par score in the first two matches though they scored their best T20I score against India in the last game.
There have been a lot of positives for India in the first two matches and the biggest one is the rise of Shivam Dube. The lanky left-hander has taken the opposition’s spinners to the cleaners in the middle overs and has scored back-to-back fifties to put his hat in the ring for World Cup selection.
Yashasvi Jaiswal also scored a blistering knock of 68 runs in the last game whereas Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel have continued to impress. But Indian captain Rohit Sharma has failed to trouble the scorers in the first two matches and he will look to get back amongst the runs.
On the other hand, Gulbadin Naib was the lone warrior with the bat in the second T20I and Afghanistan will have to come up with a collective show to challenge the potent Indian team.
Match Prediction: India will again enter the contest as favorites against Afghanistan.
