Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against Mumbai Indians in the 14th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Wednesday.
KKR have won two out of their three matches whereas Mumbai Indians have continued their trend of starting poorly as they have lost both their games.
KKR had won their previous match against Punjab Kings by six wickets. Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee are doing a fine job for KKR in the powerplay overs with the former leading from the front. Yadav has thus far taken eight wickets in three matches and he is currently the Purple Cap holder.
The experienced fast bowler has bowled quick and he has been able to hit the right areas. On the other hand, Andre Russell had scored a blistering knock of unbeaten 71 runs against PBKS, which was a huge positive for KKR.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will look to get their maiden win of the season. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah and Tymal Mills, their bowlers need to pull up their socks. Tilak Varma has impressed with the bat as he had scored 61 runs against RR in the last game whereas Ishan Kishan scored his second fifty of the season. Suryakumar Yadav is expected to replace Anmolpreet Singh in the batting order for MI.
Rohit Sharma hasn’t contributed much with the bat and he will look to give a solid start to his team along with Ishan Kishan.
Match Prediction: Taking the form of both teams into consideration, KKR will begin the contest as favorites but MI will be like a hungry lion.
