Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on the previous season’s runners-up Gujarat Titans at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Tuesday. CSK won their opening match against RCB by six wickets whereas GT also registered a six-run win against Mumbai Indians on Sunday to kick start their campaign on a high.
CSK had adopted an aggressive batting approach in their opening match against RCB and they are expected to continue to bat in a similar fashion. Furthermore, CSK were brilliant with the ball as they were successful in keeping RCB to an under-par score.
On the other hand, GT posted a below-par score against Mumbai Indians of 168 but their bowlers bounced back in style despite the opposition needing 43 runs off the last five overs.
Ergo, both teams will look to continue the winning impetus in IPL 2024.
In fact, the 2024 season is a new start for both CSK and GT as they are being led by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill respectively and both youngsters will aim to deliver the goods.
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said in the pre-match presser that it will be crucial for them to win the important stages of the match.
Match Prediction: Chennai Super Kings will enter the contest as favorites as Gujarat Titans while playing at their home venue.
