England batter Liam Livingstone looks forward to playing with Virat Kohli for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2025. Livingstone was bagged by RCB for INR 8.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, which took place in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.
Livingstone was not retained by Punjab Kings ahead of the auction after he could only manage 111 runs in seven matches of IPL 2024 at an average of 22.20 and a strike rate of 142.30.
Speaking to Reuters, the England all-rounder said, “There are a few people in that team I know really well, so I’m pretty excited to get out there as a group. Playing with the likes of Virat is going to be really cool.”
It has been reported that Virat Kohli could take back the captaincy for RCB in the next edition of the Twenty20 tournament. Kohli was able to return back to form as he scored an unbeaten 100 in the second innings of the opening Test match against Australia at Perth.
Meanwhile, Livingstone said the fan base of RCB is passionate as the supporters always back their team to the hilt.
“The fan base is very passionate. It’s probably one of the biggest franchises in IPL… It’s a bit of a fresh start for me. I think Bangalore is going to be very good for my game. It’s a little bit smaller than some of the stadiums in India, certainly better than what Punjab was for me. Hopefully, my game should suit that place well,” Livingstone commented.
Meanwhile, Livingstone smashed a 15-ball fifty for Bangla Tigers against Delhi Bulls at the Abu Dhabi T10 after he was picked by RCB.
IPL 2025 will start on March 14 with the final on May 25.
