NZ vs IND 2022: Suryakumar Yadav is a very difficult batter to bowl to – Adam Milne

New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne has rated Suryakumar Yadav as a very difficult batter to bowl to. SKY has been in stupendous form in recent times and he has been batting at his absolute best. The right-hander scored a scintillating knock of 111 runs off just 51 balls in the second T20I against the Kiwis at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.

Milne, on the other hand, conceded 35 runs in his quota of four overs and went wicketless. In fact, the right-arm pacer had observed SKY from close quarters when he played with him for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

As SKY can hit all around the ground, he makes it difficult for the bowlers to bowl at him. The right-hander is known to play with the field and he has the ability to play 360 degrees like AB de Villiers.

Adam Milne said before the third T20I against India on Prime Video, “He (SKY) is a very difficult batter to bowl to, he can hit 360 and is much like AB, we need to keep him guessing and throw him off with variations. I sort of saw him when I was at Mumbai Indians, he was great then and now has gone to a new level, his confidence is up and some of the shots were ridiculous. You have to look at the dimensions of the ground and they dictate the way you bowl.”

Yadav has been in the form of his life and he would like to hang on to this form in the upcoming matches. The 32-year-old also scored 239 runs in six matches in the T20 World Cup at a whirlwind strike rate of 189.68 and an average of 59.75.

Meanwhile, the start of the third game was delayed due to rain. Tim Southee has won the toss and elected to bat first.

Milne said, “I am not sure (about the weather) after the last couple of games, hopefully, it passes through and we have a full game. Not particularly (like the start-stop game), every bowler likes to have a run-in of games and get the rhythm and flow. Feel of the game, feel of the batsmen, and whether they’re getting used to your pace and you might need to change it a little bit (when to use variations).”
