World Cup 2023: India vs New Zealand, 1st Semifinal – Stats Preview

India will be up against New Zealand in the first semifinal of the ongoing World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Wednesday. India won nine on the bounce and they will aim to be at their absolute best in the knockout semifinal, just like the way they have been throughout the tournament.

New Zealand was brilliant in the first half of the league stage, winning their first four matches but could not keep up the good show in the next four games.

India has done a magnificent job with both bat and ball as they have come up with a collective show in all the matches. The hosts aren’t dependent on a single player and that has been their biggest strength in the ongoing ODI showpiece.

More importantly, the bowling unit has clicked as Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav have been right on the money.

Stats Preview:

Ishan Kishan requires 67 runs to complete the 1000-run mark in the ODI format.

Shubman Gill needs three more sixes to reach the 50-sixes milestone in the 50-over version. Moreover, he needs one more four to complete 250 fours in the format.

Jasprit Bumrah needs four more wickets to complete 150 wickets in his ODI career.

New Zealand wicket-keeper batTom Latham requires 48 runs to get to the landmark of 4000 runs.

Lockie Ferguson needs one more wicket to reach 100 scalps in the 50-over version.

Daryl Mitchell needs 57 runs to complete 1500 runs in ODI cricket.

James Neesham needs five more runs to get to the milestone of 1500 runs in ODIs.
