Indian Super League outfit Bengaluru FC continue their busy transfer window as they announced the signing of former Hyderabad FC midfielder Rohit Kumar. He became the first acquisition for the Blues ahead of the new season.
Rohit Kumar will join the Blues camp soon and will be available for their AFC Cup Playoffs clash against Eagles FC. Rohit is a deep lying playmaker who will add more competition for the likes of Suresh Singh Wangjam, Erik Paartalu and others. The 24-year -old is known for passing and his ability to break up the play during transitions. He uses his physical presence to protect the ball and will add more dynamism to Bengaluru FC midfield.
Rohit who hails from Delhi started his professional career with DSK Shivajians in 2016 and soon after consistent performances for the youth team, he was promoted to the first team. The 24-year-old made his debut very soon. He has featured in competitions like the Durand Cup, I-League and despite his tender age has ample amount of experience in Indian football. He left Shivajians to join ISL outfit FC Pune City making his debut in the cash rich league.
Rohit has mustered 41 appearances in the Indian Super League over the years. Last season he represented Kerala Blasters in 11 matches and clocked only 479 minutes. But had a decent 75% passing accuracy along with 8 interceptions and five blocks.

Hence, to get this opportunity is special. I’m looking forward to experiencing all the good things I’ve heard about BFC. Also, I’m eager to play my part in achieving success with this team and for the fans,” Rohit Kumar said after completing the formalities on his deal.
Head coach Marco Pezzaiouli was delighted with the transfer and he added how a hardworking young midfield will add more value to the team. “I would like to welcome Rohit to Bengaluru FC. He is a young and hardworking footballer who I believe will play his part in our season that begins shortly. As a coach, I am happy to have him at the club. I wish him all the success,” said Blues’ Head Coach Marco Pezzaiuoli.
