Euro 2020: “England in high spirit after sealing semi final berth,”says captain Harry Kane

England routed Ukraine putting four goals past them in the quarter-final to seal a semi spot against Denmark in the ongoing European Championship.

England switched gears in that quarter-final game and played some of their best football at Euro 2020 so far.

Harry Kane opened the scoring within the first few minutes of the matc. He then doubled The Three Lions’ lead just after the second half began. Manchester United captain Harry Kane then headed home the third while Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson put the fourth goal past Ukrainian goalkeeper Bushchan.

Following his goal drought and lack of involvement during the group stages, England’s captain and star striker Harry Kane had attracted scathing criticism. He has silenced the doubters since then and has been involved in goals in both of England’s knockout fixtures so far.

The England camp will now set their sights on Denmark who will take on the home side at the Wembley Stadium in London. The winner of the tie gets a ticket for the final of the European Championships and Harry Kane and co will be hoping to go all the way but they cannot afford to take their opposition lightly.

Following the tragedy that the Danish players witnessed in the first match of the tournament, they have gone shoulder-to-shoulder with the best teams in the competition. Denmark routed England’s neighbours Wales 4-0 in the Round of 16 fixture before defeating Czech Republic 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game. But we know as well if we get it right and play how we know we can, then we have a great opportunity to get to a final,” Kane said.

“A lot of us playing now won’t have the opportunity to have a big game like that at Wembley in a major tournament again. It’s an opportunity for us and we have to grab it with both hands. We have to enjoy being in that environment.”

The Tottenham talisman also mentioned that spirits in the camp have been high ever since their high-profile conquest against Germany in the Round of 16 stage.

“Coming off the back of the Germany game, the spirits were high and the stadium was rocking so hopefully we can use that energy again and really take the game to Denmark,” Kane concluded.
