ISL: Left-back Sanjeev Stalin joins Kerala Blasters FC

Kerala Blasters are delighted to announce that they have signed promising left-back Sanjeev Stalin. The youngster will join the club from Portuguese side Aves. Sanjeev has signed a three-year deal with the franchise and thus he will stay with Kerala Blasters till 2024.

The 20-year-old who has impressed with his skills, kickstarted his career with Chandigarh Football Academy. Subsequently, he made his debut in the senior set-up back in 2017 as he played for the Indian Arrows. Sanjeev played 28 matches over three seasons for Indian Arrows.

The youngster has impressed one and all with his ability to score from the set-pieces. Furthermore, Stalin has featured for India Under-17 and Under-19 teams and also played for the national team in the 2017 Under-17 Fifa World Cup, where India came up with an impressive show.

Stalin stated that it is a dream come true for him and he can’t wait to play for the Yellow Army in the next season of the Hero Indian Super League.

“l am glad to continue my football journey with Kerala Blasters FC and come back in the Indian Super league after learning so much in Europe. Football is more than a passion to me. It’s a dream that I’m living on a day-to-day basis, the one dream I’m working hard to make it as memorable and joyful as possible and reach the highest levels possible. I can’t wait to start training with the team and play in front of the Yellow Army”, said Sanjeev Stalin.

Sporting Director Karolis Skinkys added that they are happy to rope in an exciting talent like Stalin and his experience of playing in Portugal will give him confidence to do well in the ISL.

“I’m happy to have a talented player like Sanjeev Stalin join Kerala Blasters FC. He is a young player who has the ability to make an impact in our squad.  The experience he’s gained from playing 2 years in Portugal means he’ll be more mature and ready to play to the top level. I wish him all the very best and will extend my full support in his development.”, said Karolis Skinkys, Sporting Director, Kerala Blasters FC.

Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters didn’t had a great season as they could only win three matches out of the 20 league stage games and thus finished at the 10th place. Thus, Kibu Vicuna’s team look to come up with a better performance in the eighth season of the league.
