Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil was delighted after his team’s come-from-behind 2-1 win against Bengaluru FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur in the ongoing Indian Super League on Saturday.
Alberto Noguera scored the opening goal for the visitors in the 19th minute. However, Jamshedpur FC equalized after Jordan Murray scored in the 84th minute. Muhammad Uvais scored the winning goal in the 90th minute to help his team bag all three points against the Blues.
The home team only had 36.9% possession and took three shots on target but most importantly they ended on the right side of the result.
“Because of the players, they have worked very hard. We deserve to win this game because the players are working very hard. They have unity among themselves. That is a good point. You must keep it up like this and maintain the record,” Khalid Jamil said in the post-match presentation.
After this win, Jamshedpur FC climbed to the fourth position in the standings, with 24 points from 13 matches. Jamil hailed the players for adapting without many instructions.
“They (the players) are mature. I don’t have to give them instructions. They are solving the problem. And they are having that feeling that we must come back again,” he said.
Jamil also hailed the team’s collective contribution of every player. “Jordan(Murray), (Javier) Siverio, even Javi (Hernández), he tried his best. Rei (Tachikawa) also, did a good job. Lazar Ćirković..he also worked hard. Ritwik Das, Albino Gomes, Muhammad Uvais, and Nikhil Barla also did a good job… everybody worked very hard. That is a good point,” he remarked.
The Indian head coach also gave his gratitude to the home fans for turning up in huge numbers and supporting their team.
“It is very important (the support of the fans). They must support us. And the players are motivated. Because of the support, we got these points,” Jamil stated.
