Jamshedpur FC’s forward Imran Khan has urged his team to maintain the momentum in the ongoing Indian Super League. Khalid Jamil’s team has got off to a decent start in the new season as they have won three out of their four matches.
Jamshedpur FC registered a 2-1 win against FC Goa in their season’s opener. The Red Miners then stunned Mumbai City FC by 3-2 in their second match but suffered a 2-1 loss against Odisha FC. Before the International break, they won against East Bengal FC by 2-0.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan made 19 Indian Super League appearances, in which he scored two goals and provided two assists in the previous season.
“The season is long, and (the) future is unpredictable. We have just started, and we need to maintain the momentum,” Khan said in an interview with mykhel.com.
“We need to work hard and do our best for the team and the fans. There is a lot of work to be done, and we are behind it,” he added.
Khan revealed the strong dressing room atmosphere is the reason behind their positive start to the season.
“We all have a good relationship within the team. Jordan (Murray), (Javier) Siverio, Javi (Hernandez), Len (Doungel), and (Mohammed) Sanan speak a lot about the match on and off (the) field, which helps us to play better on matchdays,” he revealed.
“Everyone has a good relationship, and I am happy to see all of them working towards a common goal,” the forward continued.
Khan also credited the team’s fans for their unwavering support.
“I am very happy to see that the fans are really pushing us and standing with us. When you play in front of a full stadium, there is a lot of motivation to play for.”
“We need to win the Shield and the ISL Cup this season, and the support from the fans is the most important factor. We need such support in all our matches,” he concluded.
Jamshedpur FC will resume their season against Hyderabad FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on 21st October.
