Tim Henman wants Novak Djokovic to struggle in the early stage after his partnership with Andy Murray

Former British player Tim Henman wants Novak Djokovic to struggle in the early stages of 2025 after revealing his partnership with Andy Murray. Henman, who was known to play the serve-and-volley game during his heydays, said it would be interesting to manage how Murray would manage Djokovic when the latter shows his frustration at the box.

Djokovic could not win a single Major in 2024 as Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner shared two Slams each. The Serb parted ways with his former Goran Ivanisevic in March and appointed Andy Murray as his new coach recently.

“Who’s going to shout at who? I’m definitely intrigued,” Henman told Eurosport.

“That’s why I want to see Djokovic struggle a little bit in those early matches so that there’s a bit of tension, a bit of adversity, hopefully a bit of shouting and screaming at the box.

Meanwhile, Murray was expected to take a commentary role in the media after his retirement but he left one and all shocked after his decision to join Djokovic’s team.

Speaking on Murray’s decision, Henman said “At the end of the day, Andy’s the one that’s got to answer that question, what was the motivation?

“But I always felt that he would go into coaching. I didn’t think it would be this quick, but when you get the opportunity to work with one of the greatest players in the history of our sport, then perhaps he viewed it as too good an opportunity to turn down.

“So, as I said, fascinated to hear about the off-season when they’re practising in Spain and then going into the Australian Open to see how the relationship evolves. It just adds another great storyline around the Australian Open in 2025.”

Djokovic will look to win his 11th Australian Open title in 2025.
