Dallas Mavericks’ talisman Luka Doncic has been always instrumental in the success of his team. Doncic has done a fine job for the franchise and he once again contributed to the team’s win. The 21-year scored 13 points, 12 rebounds and as many assists as the Mavericks defeated the Indiana Pacers by 128-112 on Thursday.
This was an important win for the Mavericks as they had lost their last three matches. The team won its seventh match of the season but they have also lost seven matches. Kristaps Porzingis was the star of the show for the Mavericks as the Lativian scored 27 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. Furthermore, Trey Burke who came off the bench scored 22 points for his team.
On the other hand, with 13 points, 12 rebounds and as many assists, Luka Doncic scored his 30th triple-double in NBA history. Consequently, the youngster has become the youngest to score that many triple-doubles in the history of the league.
In fact, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson and LeBron James scored a combined total of 29 triple-doubles before turning 22. However, Doncic has scored 30 before turning 22.
Meanwhile, Oscar Robertson who has most triple-doubles in NBA history, took a total of 75 matches to score 30 triple-doubles whereas the Slovenian has taken 146 games. Magic Johnson had taken 190 matches to reach the same milestone.
Doncic is effective on both sides of the court and he will look to continue his good show for the Dallas Mavericks. The team came up with a collective effort against the Pacers and they will look to do the same in the coming matches. The Mavericks will next face the San Antonio Spurs on 23rd January.
