India vs England, 1st ODI – Stats Preview

India will square off against England in the first ODI at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Thursday. Both teams would want to tick the right boxes before the all-important Champions Trophy begins.

Indian batters haven’t been at their best in the recent past and they would look to get amongst the runs in the 50-over format. On the other hand, English batters looked at sea against the Indian spinners in the T20I series and they must pull up their socks in the middle overs.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma would want to get back into form and they are going to hold the key for the home team.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma needs 134 runs to reach 11000 runs in ODIs.

Shreyas Iyer needs 79 runs to reach the 2500-run mark in the 50-over format.

Virat Kohli needs 94 runs to complete 14000 runs in ODIs. The talisman will become the third batter after Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara to reach the milestone.

Rishabh Pant needs nine fours to complete 100 boundaries.

Ravindra Jadeja needs one boundary to complete 200 fours in ODIs.

Mohammed Shami needs five wickets to complete 200 scalps in the 50-over format.

Joe Root needs one six to complete 50 maximums in ODIs.

Liam Livingstone needs three sixes to reach 50 maximums in ODIs.

Jofra Archer needs three wickets to reach 50 wickets in the ODI format.
