NEROCA FC has signed former Leganes Youth teamer Aryan Gupta ahead of the 2020-2021 I-League season.
The 21-year-old Indian is the fourth Indian to ply his trade in Spain after playing for Alcorcon in 2017 in the Spanish Segunda Division.
Gupta is primarily an attacker but can play anywhere as a utility player with the Orange army, and his signing was announced on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Gokulam Kerala are said to be in advanced talks with ex-Arrows defender Ajin Tom in order to sign him.
According to the India news media, both parties are now close to finalizing the deal, and the deal could be confirmed in the coming days.
“Gokulam Kerala are very close to securing the signing of Ajin Tom. Final negotiations involving contract duration are going on at the moment, and both parties are close to reaching a mutual agreement. The signing could happen in a week or two,” a source disclosed.
The player featured for a couple of Indian youth teams, including the U13 and U16, as well as being a probable for the U17 team ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2017.
However, it is being said that the deal could have been hijacked by another Indian team, but the unannounced team dropped interest.
Ajin joined Chennaiyin FC’s reserve team in 2017 and features in the 2nd Division of the I-league for two seasons before joining Indian Arrows.
Gokulam Kerala finished sixth in the league last season even though the I-League was cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
However, ahead of the new season, the club announced Vincenzo Alberto Annese as the new coach to lead the team into the 2020-2021 I-League season.
Rowilson Rodrigues, Deepak Devrani, Shayan Roy, and Faslu Rahman are few of the new players added to the team by the club.
